The Portland-based artist, Mark R. Hansen, is a man obsessed with the past, and with a love of nature, both of which figure prominently in his illustrations. His anthropomorphic pen, ink, and watercolor illustrations harken back to a more classic style, depicting more often than not, jackalopes and other equally strange creatures, dressed in Victorian outfits and military uniforms. Many of his works are crafted in coffee shops and pubs, and use coffee and beer in addition to more ordinary mediums.
