Lynette Cook

Lynette Cook, Lives Hanging in the Balance, 2014, 24" x 30", Acrylic on Canvas

Lynette Cook (, widely known as scientific illustrator who has depicted many of the planets discovered outside our solar system, now explores her love of painting. She currently focuses on colorful inspirations of everyday life, finding beauty in the shadows made by objects within the urban landscape usually considered ordinary or even ugly: utility poles, laundry drying outdoors, and exterior balconies and stairs that create repeating patterns of light and shade. Current exhibitions include the Salon 2014 Statewide 2D Competition and Exhibition at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, California. She is represented by Gallerie Citi in Burlingame, California.
