Kristen Brown (kristenbrownart.com) is a San Francisco-based painter originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Her oil paintings, based on experimental film photography, explore the themes of dislocation, transience, and memory. She has exhibited at the de Young Museum, Berkeley Art Center, Root Division, Carnegie Arts Center, Atelier Gallery, Cannery Gallery, Arte Verissima Gallery, Studio Gallery, and Paolo Mejia Gallery in California, and Mendel Art Gallery, Gordon Snelgrove Gallery, AKA Gallery, and Elements Gallery in Saskatchewan. Kristen holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Saskatchewan and an MFA in Painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
