In 2016 Patricia Ann Timbrook painted this body of work, following the tragic death of Vince, a 5-year-old boy in the Philippines, where friends of hers founded and ran two homes for Humanility.org. In his memory, and to help with this ministry, Timbrook donates 100 percent of the sales of these prints to kids living in these homes. All throughout her life, Timbrook learned art skills and techniques from various art teachers, although she finds her high school teachers to be most influential in her work. During the late ’80s, she was mentored by a professional college instructor and children’s book illustrator. Timbrook says she has improved in the basic concept of subject-capturing. However, she also discovered it was even more important to actually capture the essence of the subject, so that the painting would breathe. Her aim is to provide others with an art take-away, including a sense of curiosity, satisfaction, or hopefully, a great sense of love. For more on Timbrook and her work, visit patriciaanntimbrook.com.
