Mark Nesmith is a Texas artist, musician and teacher. Two themes that dominate his work are landscapes celebrating the sublime beauty of nature, and narratives, often populated by wildlife personifying human traits. These whimsical tall tales reflect Nesmith’s unease with mankind’s relationship with the environment and tackle subjects ranging from war to society’s growing reliance on modern technology. Nesmith’s exhibition The Only Way Round is Through is on display at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. His work was published in the April and August 2016 issues of American Art Collector magazine.
