Professional Artist recently went in search of the most inspirational art studios across the country during our Show Us Your Studio call.
We loved getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse into our readers’ daily lives. Out of about 150 entries, here are our top picks in the Most Creative, Most Messy and Most Organized categories. The top 28 finalists are posted on our Facebook page.
Thanks to all who entered!
MOST CREATIVE
Suzi Long
Mendocino, California
My studio is on the third floor of an 1857 water tower. It still works and the lower tank holds about 2,000 gallons for the residents on my corner. I have an incredible view, and some days it’s really hard to concentrate on painting when it’s so gorgeous outside. Rainy days (like we used to have) were a joy, with the heater on, audio books on the CD player, and me in the zone.
MOST ORGANIZED
Alia El-Bermani
Apex, North Carolina
We have been renovating this space above our garage for two years now. We have been doing most of the work ourselves. We FINALLY finished the work this January. This is the best studio I ever have had or could want! Notice the built-in cabinets and flat files. There is no wasted space.
MOST MESSY
Elaine Jason
Tahoe City, California
My work consists of found objects and wood products and neon. Because of the tools I use and the materials, I am always in piles of junk and sawdust. My studio should win Most Messy as I have seen many artist studios, and my space is the messiest I have witnessed. Thanks for the opportunity to share.
