Veronica M. Gabet

According to actress Stella Adler, “Life beats down and crushes the soul, and art reminds you that you have one.” The majority of my creative work stems from a desire to capture unexpected or random moments that whisper, “I have a deeper story to tell.” I look to nature and the day-to-day happenings of life that transpire right outside my front door as the muse of artistic inspiration. In this political climate of guns, bans, terror, and walls, my dream for the future revolves around love in all its many forms. By following the rhythm of my artistic heart, I dream my passion for photography creates a spark and ignites a visual conversation that lifts the mundane to a higher plane.
When I am not behind the camera, I am teaching composition to college freshman and writing poetry. The road to this juncture has been circuitous and full of potholes, but the love I have for these pursuits still remains as the light at the end of the tunnel when the rest of the world appears to have gone off the rails. My heart is the muse and inspiration is found when I let it lead the way.
